Project Management South Sudan

MidCon Builds’ principal managed construction of SPLA training and base camp facilities under the U.S. State Department Security Sector Transformation program. Work included the Malou Infantry School (Rumbek area), along with related sites in Juba and Bentiu.

The Malou camp required significant deficiency correction after earlier delays. That work was completed, the facility was prepared for Department of State acceptance, and it was turned over as part of the overall base camp package in early 2008. During this period the site hosted high-level SPLA activity, including a visit by Salva Kiir Mayardit, President of the Government of Southern Sudan (GoSS), in October 2007, at which approximately 394 colonels were graduated.

This was field-level project leadership in a post-conflict environment: identify problems, correct them under pressure, and deliver a usable facility to the client.
