Liberia Project Management
Liberia provided Jerry Tarley with the opportunity to support major industrial projects, mining, commercial ventures, and significant infrastructure development during a time of robust economic growth in West Africa. In his roles in construction leadership and project management, Jerry coordinated multidisciplinary teams, managed project execution, oversaw subcontractors, facilitated procurement and logistics operations, and ensured that projects were delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with client requirements.
Among the notable projects during this period were improvements for the Liberia Petroleum Refining Company (LPRC) and construction activities related to the New Liberty Gold Mine development. These initiatives necessitated the coordination of international contractors, local labor forces, material procurement, scheduling, quality control, and construction activities in environments where logistics, infrastructure limitations, and resource availability called for constant strategic planning and adaptability.
Operating in Liberia involved balancing technical project management requirements with the realities of working in a developing nation, where challenges such as transportation, supply chains, workforce development, and operational support required innovative solutions.
