Construct Area Defense Council (ADC) Facility - Design-Build

This project was executed under Midcon Builds' 'Won and Run' model for the United States Air Force, focusing on the Tyndall Air Force Base Project XLWU 19-8402. Midcon Builds identified the opportunity, crafted the winning proposal, supported project estimating, and took on key project leadership responsibilities as Project Manager, Design Project Manager, Environmental Manager, Quality Control Manager, Safety Coordinator, and Specifier for the Prime Contractor.

The primary goal of this design-build project was to construct a new ADC facility (B1287) to replace a structure that was demolished following the extensive damage inflicted by Hurricane Michael. This effort included the design and construction of a new 1,600-square-foot CMU building, incorporating CMU veneer, complete mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, architectural finishes, and all necessary supporting infrastructure for a fully operational facility.

The project was designed and built in accordance with Department of Defense building standards and the Florida Building Code, addressing the High Velocity Hurricane Zone (HVHZ) requirements. This endeavor necessitated the coordination of design development, engineering, permitting, procurement, quality control, safety management, environmental control services, construction execution, and project closeout activities to deliver a resilient, hurricane-resistant facility capable of supporting long-term Air Force operations.

The project was completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
