This project was a Won and Run (we wrote the proposal, estimated the project, and then performed as Project Manager, Safety Coordinator, Quality Control Manager, Environmental Manager, Scheduler, and Specifier for the Prime Contractor) for the USDA Forest Service in Webster County, WV.
The project was funded under the Great American Outdoors Act (GAOA), a historic investment in protecting and sustaining our public lands and Bureau of Indian Education (BIE)-funded schools. The purpose of this task order was to provide and install a lightning protection
system onto the tower, construct campsites and RV hookups on the ground and add
electrical service and fixtures in the fire tower cab.
Interestingly, MIDCon Builds also provided drone support to the Lightning Protection Institute, and our imagery was used for remote system certification.
Work was completed successfully, and within schedule and budget.
