Rattlesnake Bridge Construction Project Overview

This project was executed under MCB's 'Won and Run' model, where MCB identified the opportunity, developed the winning proposal, supported project estimating, and took on key project leadership roles, including Project Manager, Quality Control Manager, Safety Coordinator, Environmental Manager, Scheduler, and Specifier.

Funded through the Emergency Relief for Federally Owned Roads (ERFO) Program, this initiative focused on restoring critical transportation infrastructure, including the Rattlesnake Bridge, within the Monongahela National Forest. The work encompassed various emergency relief projects such as clearing and grubbing, tree and debris removal, slide repairs, embankment construction, roadway reconstruction, bridge replacement, stream restoration, culvert replacements, roadway resurfacing, and associated site improvements. Additionally, the project required the construction of heavy bridge abutments, installation of precast prestressed concrete bridge beams, placement of a machine-finished concrete bridge deck, masonry stone headwalls, culvert installations, and rock excavation to support roadway improvements in a remote forest environment.

The project demanded precise coordination of construction activities within an environmentally sensitive area, ensuring full compliance with federal safety, quality control, and environmental regulations. MCB managed preconstruction planning, scheduling, quality control, safety compliance, environmental coordination, and overall project execution throughout the duration of the performance.

The project was completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
