Natural Resource Center Construction - Design-Build

This project was executed under Midcon Builds' "Won and Run" model for the United States Air Force. Midcon Builds identified the opportunity, developed the winning proposal, supported project estimating, and took on key leadership roles including Project Manager, Design Project Manager, Environmental Manager, Quality Control Manager, Safety Coordinator, and Specifier for the Prime Contractor.

The Tyndall Air Force Base project, XLWU 20-4018, aimed to construct a Natural Resource Center as a replacement for a facility destroyed by Hurricane Michael. This Design-Build construction initiative involved the creation of a new 1,400-square-foot pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) along with all necessary site and utility infrastructure. The project scope encompassed architectural finishes, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, septic and lift/grinder pump installation, lightning protection systems, and all supporting site improvements to ensure a fully operational facility.

Designed and constructed in accordance with current building codes, the project adhered to Department of Defense standards and the Florida Building Code High Velocity Hurricane Zone (HVHZ) requirements. Successful delivery of this resilient, hurricane-resistant facility was achieved through the meticulous coordination of design development, permitting, procurement, quality control, safety management, environmental compliance, construction execution, and project closeout activities.

The project was completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
