This project was executed under Midcon Builds' 'Won and Run' model for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Mobile District. Midcon Builds identified the opportunity, developed the winning proposal, and provided essential project management services, including project estimating, while taking on key leadership roles such as Project Manager, Superintendent, Site Quality Control Manager, Safety Coordinator, Specifier, and CAD Designer for the Prime Contractor.
The project involved the installation of three electrically operated sliding roller gates as part of our construction contract services at the Resource Management Office, Maintenance Compound, and East Bank Campground. The scope also included the demolition, removal, and replacement of approximately 1,000 linear feet of wooden fencing, along with the associated site work necessary to support the installation of the new facilities.
This initiative required careful coordination of fabrication, site preparation, electrical connections, gate controls, quality control inspections, safety compliance, and construction sequencing. All efforts were made to reduce disruption to ongoing operations while adhering to USACE requirements. Midcon Builds managed all aspects, including project planning, submittals, shop drawings, CAD development, quality control, safety management, and overall project execution throughout construction.
Ultimately, the project was completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
