WV ERFO FS 2016-1(6) Sulphur Lick Run

This road rehabilitation project was performed under Midcon Builds' "Won and Run" model for the USDA Forest Service. Midcon Builds identified the opportunity, developed the winning proposal, supported project estimating, and then served in key leadership roles including Project Manager, Safety Coordinator, Quality Control Manager, Environmental Manager, Scheduler, and Specifier for the Prime Contractor.

Funded through the Emergency Relief for Federally Owned Roads (ERFO) Program, the project involved the rehabilitation of Forest Road 719A Extension and an unnamed woods road, as well as the decommissioning of approximately 1.91 miles of Sulphur Lick Run Road within the Monongahela National Forest. The work addressed roadway damage caused by severe storm events and included reconstruction of washed-out roadway sections, slope stabilization, clearing and grubbing, embankment construction, mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) walls, culvert replacements, roadway resurfacing, stream crossing improvements, and associated site restoration activities.

The project required detailed coordination of earthwork, drainage improvements, erosion and sediment control measures, roadway reconstruction, and environmental compliance activities within an active National Forest environment. Midcon Builds effectively managed project planning, scheduling, quality control, safety compliance, environmental controls, and overall project execution throughout construction.

The project was completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
