NAVFAC Southeast Gulf Coast MACC – Building S237 Covered Walkway Demolition

This project was a Won and Run, where we wrote the proposal and took on key leadership roles such as Project Manager, Safety Coordinator, Quality Control Manager, Environmental Manager, Scheduler, and Specifier for the Prime Contractor. This endeavor fell under the NAVFAC Southeast Gulf Coast Area of Responsibility Design-Build / Design-Bid-Build Multiple Award Construction Contract (N6945024D0020), showcasing our expertise in building demolition services.

MidCon Builds also played a pivotal role by supporting the original MATOC proposal. The Prime Contractor, NNAC, was awarded this task order for the design and demolition of the covered walkway at Building S237, Naval Support Activity Mid-South, Millington, Tennessee.

The existing concrete canopy structure exhibited significant deterioration, including cracking, spalling, and exposed rebar at the building connection points. The scope of this NAVFAC Southeast demolition included conducting a detailed existing-conditions assessment, installing temporary adjustable steel shoring to safely support the slab during work, controlled demolition of the walkway, debris removal, repairing the building face where the structure was attached, placing new concrete sidewalks, and complete site restoration with sod.

Work was performed in an active installation environment and was completed successfully, on schedule, and within budget.
